Known around the Western Hockey League as Willy, Calgary Hitmen Head Coach Mike Williamson celebrated a milestone in Sunday's 6-2 home ice victory over the Lethbridge Hurricanes. It was regular season coaching win number 300. He becomes just the 19th coach in league history to achieve that mark. Williamson got his start with the Portland Winterhawks where he picked up his first 219 victories as a bench boss. But his transition to Calgary was as good as any coach can ask for, winning an Ed Chynoweth Cup with the Hitmen as WHL Champions in 2010.
I had a chance to catch up with Mr. 300. You can listen to the interview here.
