Calgary 8 Prince Albert 2

Prince Albert, SK – The Calgary Hitmen completed a four game sweep of their East Division road trip with an 8-2 win over the Prince Albert Raiders Saturday night at the Art Hauser Centre.

Brady Brassart (2g 1a) and Spencer Humphries (1g 2a) both had three points each to lead the scoring attack. 

Brooks Macek, Trevor Cheek, Danny Gayle, Jaynen Rissling and Kenton Helgesen also scored for Calgary.

Gayle’s goal extended his career high point scoring streak to eight games, while Helgesen’s marker was his first goal in the Western Hockey League. 

Chris Driedger made 25 saves in the Hitmen net including 14 in the first period when Prince Albert outshot Calgary 15-5 but headed to the dressing room after twenty minutes in a 1-1 tie.

The Hitmen blew the game open in the second period scoring three goals in a span of 3:01 to take a 4-1 lead.

Calgary, 14-10-1-1 on the season, will enjoy a full four day break before travelling to Edmonton on Thursday for their first meeting with the Oil Kings.

The Hitmen then return to Scotiabank Saddledome for a pair of games hosting Spokane on Friday, December 2nd in the Canada Safeway Ltd. Movember game and Medicine Hat on Sunday, December 4th in the Petro-Canada Teddy Bear Toss.  Friday is 7:00 pm start with a 4:00 pm puck drop on Sunday.
