Kootenay 4 Calgary 2

The Kootenay Ice jumped out to a 3-0 second period lead and held on for a 4-2 win over the Calgary Hitmen Sunday at Scotiabank Saddledome.

The loss snapped the Hitmen's three game winning streak.

Erik Benoit led the Ice with a goal and an assist while Mike Simpson, Drew Czerwonka and Adam Rossignol into an empty net also scored for the visitors.

Brooks Macek with his fourth goal of the season and Trevor Cheek with his third replied for Calgary.
