Calgary Hitmen 3 Regina Pats 1

Regina, SK – The Calgary Hitmen extended their winning streak to three games with a 3-1 victory on the road Thursday night over the Regina Pats.

A quick start was a key ingredient as all three Hitmen goals were scored in the first period.

Danny Gayle opened the scoring on a powerplay tipping home a Victor Rask shot for his second goal of the season.

Cody Sylvester then struck shorthanded for his second goal of the young season before Kenton Miller’s third goal of the year rounded out the scoring.

Colton Jobke, on a second period powerplay, was the only Pat to beat Hitmen goaltender Chris Driedger (dree-gurr) who made 23 saves in a first star performance.

The win for Calgary improves their record to 4-4-0-1 and comes over the Canadian Hockey League’s seventh ranked Pats.

The Hitmen will now return home to face the Kootenay Ice Sunday at Scotiabank Saddledome for Aboriginal Night.  With representation from the Blood Tribe, Siksika Nation, Tsuu T’ina Nation and Piikani Nation, fans will experience a traditional Drum Group and Aboriginal Dance during the game.

Game time is 4:00 p.m.
