Spokane at Calgary

The Calgary Hitmen (14-11-1-1) play their first home game in 12 days as they welcome the Spokane Chiefs (12-8-1-2) to Scotiabank Saddledome tonight.  Game time is 7:00 p.m. in the Canada Safeway Ltd. Movember game.  The Hitmen wrapped up five straight on the road last night with a 6-1 loss in Edmonton.  Spokane meanwhile is 1-1 on their current six game road trip, falling 4-1 in Edmonton on Tuesday before beating Red Deer 5-2 on Wednesday.

Tonight is their first and only meeting of the season with a couple story lines heading into tonight.  This marks the first time Hitmen forward Brady Brassart meets his former team.  After playing two seasons with the Chiefs, Brassart was dealt to Calgary in August for a conditional fourth round bantam pick in the 2012 WHL Bantam Draft.  Brassart was Spokane’s Rookie of the Year in 2010 and is a two time winner of the Chiefs Scholastic Player of the Year Award in 2010 and 2011.  The Hitmen I'm sure also still remember last seasons lone meeting to this day.  It was October 20, 2010 when the Hitmen wrapped up a U-S Division road trip with an 8-1 loss in Spokane.  A game where they were out shot 52-20.

Calgary is 5-5-0-1 at home while the Chiefs are 1-5-1-2 on the road.

STREAKIN:  Trevor Cheek (3g 7a) is on a seven game point streak while Greg Chase (1g 3a) has points in three straight.

DID YOU KNOW?  Spokane's win in Red Deer Wednesday snapped a three game losing streak....The Chiefs have played the fewest games of anyone in the WHL at 23 while the Hitmen have played the second fewest home games of any team at 11.  Calgary went 4-1 on their five game road trip outscoring their opponents by a combined 26-15....Calgary is 2-2 this season in their first game back at the 'Dome following a road trip.
