Calgary 3 Spokane 2 OT

Victor Rask scored at 2:26 of overtime lifting the Calgary Hitmen to a 3-2 home ice win over the Spokane Chiefs Friday night at Scotiabank Saddledome.

Rask, who finished the game with a pair of goals, also opened the scoring for Calgary in the first period.  The Hitmen then extended their lead to 2-0 when Alex Gogolev scored the lone goal of the middle frame.

In the third period, Spokane stormed out of the gates scoring twice in the first 3:35 to draw even on goals from Brenden Kichton and Darren Kramer.

The win improves the Hitmen record to 15-11-1-1 moving them one point ahead of Red Deer and into seventh place in the Eastern Conference.

Calgary returns to action Sunday in the 17th annual Petro-Canada Teddy Bear Toss.  Game time is 4:00 p.m. at Scotiabank Saddledome.  Fans are asked to bring a stuffed toy to the game and toss it on the ice when the Hitmen score their first goal.  Over 50 local agencies have requested over 25,000 teddy bears this holiday season.
