Hitmen reduce roster to 23 by trading Clayton to Saskatoon

From the Hitmen Office:

The Calgary Hitmen Hockey Club announced today that they have acquired a conditional fifth round pick in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft from the Saskatoon Blades in exchange for forward Chase Clayton.

“Chase has been a consummate member of the organization since he began his WHL career with Calgary,” said Hitmen General Manager and Vice President, Business Operations Mike Moore.  “We would like to thank Chase for his time and wish him continued success with the Blades.”

Clayton, a native of Abbotsford, British Columbia, has appeared in 183 games over four seasons with
Calgary, recording 21 goals and 41 assists for 62 points along with 116 penalty minutes.  The 19-year-old centre, selected by the Hitmen in the first round, 22nd overall, in the 2009 WHL Bantam Draft, has recorded five points (one goal, four assists) in 22 career playoff games.
