Defenceman Jason Fram scored in the sixth round of the shootout lifting the Spokane Chiefs to a 3-2 win over the Calgary Hitmen.
Fram's goal was the only marker in the shootout after the Hitmen hit four posts and the Chiefs one.
After a scoreless first period, Calgary scored the only two goals of the second period as both Greg Chase and Zane Jones found the back of the net.
In the third period, Spokane out shot Calgary 14-6 and got goals from Cole Wedman and the WHL's top scorer Mitch Holmberg to force overtime.
