Hitmen beat CHL's number seven ranked Raiders

Mack Shields made made 28 saves as the Calgary Hitmen opened a three game home stand with a 4-3 win over the Prince Albert Raiders.

The Hitmen jumped out to a 2-0 lead less than nine minutes into the contest on the Canadian Hockey League's seventh ranked club.

Jake Virtanen scored on the powerplay before Pavel Padakin netted the Hitmen's first shorthanded goal of the season.

The Raiders would respond with a pair of goals themselves before Brady Brassart scored even strength before the end of the first period to give the home team a 3-2 lead.

Chase Clayton extended the Hitmen lead to 4-2 just before the midway mark of the second period before Craig Leverton pulled PA to within one.

In the third period the Raiders out shot Calgary 10-5 but couldn't beat Shields who was named the games third star.
