Kamloops 3 Calgary 2 Shootout

Brendan Ranford scored the game winner in the shootout lifting the Kamloops Blazers to a 3-2 win in Calgary Tuesday night at Scotiabank Saddledome.

The win for the Blazers was the second in as many tries against the Hitmen this season.

Calgary built a 2-0 second period lead on goals from Zane Jones and Brady Brassart before the WHL's top point producer Colin Smith struck for a pair for Kamloops, including the tying goal just 19 seconds in the the third period.

Calgary had a couple of great looks in overtime but both Jake Virtanen and Victor Rask hit the goal post.
