Edmonton 4 Calgary 1

The Edmonton Oil Kings won the special teams battle and won the hockey game beating the Calgary Hitmen 4-1 Tuesday night at Scotiabank Saddledome.

After Greg Chase opened the scoring for Calgary, potting his ninth of the season in the first period it was all Edmonton. 

The Oil Kings got a pair of shorthanded goals from Henrik Samuelsson in the second period to turn the momentum around.  Cody Corbett also scored in the middle stanza on the powerplay.

In the third period, Curtis Lazar added another powerplay goal for Edmonton who outshot Calgary by a combined 23-6 over the final 40 minutes.

The win moves Edmonton a point ahead of Calgary into top spot in the Eastern Conference heading into the Christmas Break.
