The Calgary Hitmen (26-17-2-1) play the Red Deer Rebels (20-20-1-4) this afternoon in their second meeting in just six days. Game time is 4:00 p.m. at Scotiabank Saddledome. Both teams are coming off 5-1 wins over Prince George. Calgary beat the Cougars Friday night, while the Rebels knocked off Prince George last night.
Calgary enters play with 55 points, sitting seventh in the Eastern Conference, three points back of Regina for sixth and six points ahead of Brandon for eighth. Red Deer meanwhile is ninth, four point back of Brandon for a playoff spot.
Today is the third of six meetings between the two clubs. The season series is tied 1-1. Greg Chase (1g 2a), Jimmy Bubnick (3a) and Cody Sylvester (3a) all have three points each against Red Deer. Matt Dumba (1g 1a), Colton Mayor (1g 1a), John Persson (1g 1a) and Flames prospect Turner Elson (2a) all have two points each against Calgary.
