Alex Roach gets three game suspension

When Alex Roach sat out Sunday's game against Red Deer the length of his suspension wasn't known.  The Western Hockey League has now ruled on the incident, and Roach has been handed a three game ban.  Roach was given a major on the play for a high hit on Cougars forward Greg Fraser.

Here's the posting from the league's website.

Alex Roach, Calgary:
-Three games for checking to the head major and g.m. versus Prince George on January 20

Roach won't be allowed to return to the line-up until Saturday night in Medicine Hat against the Tigers.

In a separate ruling from that same game Prince George forward Campbell Elynuik has been given a four game suspension.  Elynuik was given a major for fighting on the play for tracking down Hitmen defenceman Collin Bowman and delivering a blind sided punch.  Elynuik continued to throw punches after knocking Bowman to the ice.  Bowman did not receive a penalty on the play.

Here's the posting from the league's website on that incident.

Campbell Elynuik,  Prince George:

-Four games for one man fight at Calgary on January 20
