Calgary at Red Deer

The Calgary Hitmen (24-16-2-1) put their season high seven game winning streak on the line tonight in Red Deer against the Rebels (19-19-1-4).  Internet Broadcast on http://www.sportsnet960.ca/ starts at 7:00 p.m.  Click here to listen http://player.rogersradio.ca/cfac-alt/on_air 

Tonight is just their second meeting this season.  Back on October 7th, Red Deer posted a 4-2 win at Scotiabank Saddledome.  Colton Mayor and John Persson each had a goal and an assist for the Rebels.

The Hitmen and Rebels have gone in different directions since the early part of the season.  Calgary started 6-8-0-1 but has gone 18-8-2-0 since.  Red Deer meanwhile got off to a 14-4-0-3 start, but is 5-15-1-1 since.

Calgary last played on Sunday posting a 4-3 home ice win over Edmonton while the Rebels dropped a 4-0 decision in Swift Current Saturday night.

The Hitmen have won four straight away from the 'Dome and are 13-9-2-0 on the road this season.  Red Deer has lost two straight extra time games in a row at Enmax Centrium, one in a shootout and a second in overtime.  Overall the Rebels are 10-9-1-2 on home ice.

STREAKIN':  Five Hitmen take point scoring streaks into tonight's game.  Jaynen Rissling (1g 3a) is on a four game run.  Jimmy Bubnick (3g 2a) has points in three straight.  Danny Gayle (1g 4a), Cody Sylvester (2g 2a) and Trevor Cheek (1g 3a) all have points in back-to-back games.  Collin Bowman is combined +9 in his last four games.  Goaltender Brandon Glover has won his last five starts, while Chris Driedger has won two straight.

DID YOU KNOW?  Rebels defenceman Matthew Dumba was ranked 7th by Central Scouting among North American Skaters for the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.  Dumba will also suit up for Team Cherry at the CHL Top Prospects Game on February 1st in Kelowna.
