Moose Jaw 4 Calgary 2

Calgary, AB - The Moose Jaw Warriors scored four unanswered goals, including one into an empty net, to edge the Calgary Hitmen 4-2 Friday night at Scotiabank Saddledome.

Jimmy Bubnick, with his team-leading 26th goal opened the scoring for Calgary on a first period break-away.  Brady Brassart then extended the Hitmen lead to 2-0 with his 18th goal just 14 seconds into the second period.

From that point on it was all Moose Jaw with the turning point coming just past the midway mark of the second period when the Warriors scored twice on a 5-on-3 powerplay to turn a 2-1 deficit into a 3-2 lead.

Former Hitmen Kenton Miller led the Warriors scoring attack with a goal and two assists.

Calgary, now 32-21-2-1, drop to fifth in the WHL's Eastern Conference with 67 points.

They return to action Sunday to host the sixth place Kootenay Ice.  Game time is 4:00 p.m. for the Fairmont Palliser Valentine’s Day game.
