Kris Foucault has become the 36th Calgary Hitmen grad to play at least one game in the National Hockey League. The 21-year-old was called up this week by the Minnesota Wild from their AHL affiliate in Houston. Wearing number 72, Foucault made his NHL debut last night in the Wild's 2-1 home ice loss to the Anaheim Ducks. He played 8 minutes and 50 seconds, including 25 seconds on the powerplay and was held off the score sheet.
In 47 games with the Houston Aeros this season, Foucault had 23 points (10g 13a) in his first season of pro hockey.
Foucault played parts of three seasons with the Hitmen joining the club after the 2009 WHL trade deadline from the Kootenay Ice. He was also a member of the 2010 WHL Champion Hitmen.
Today the Wild returned Foucault to Houston while also placing Hitmen Alumnus Carson McMillan on injured reserve with a lower body injury.
