Edmonton 9 Calgary 5

One day after a full moon, the effects may have still lingered as the Calgary Hitmen and Edmonton Oil Kings combined for 14 goals in a 9-5 win by the Oil Kings Wednesday night at Scotiabank Saddledome.

The games turning point came just past the midway point of the second period when Edmonton scored four times in a span of 4:26 turning a 3-3 tie into a 7-3 lead.

Just prior the Hitmen had roared back from a 3-1 deficit scoring twice in 64 seconds to pull even on goals from Victor Rask and Jimmy Bubnick.

T.J. Foster and Tyler Maxwell both recorded hat-tricks for the WHL's Eastern Conference leaders who improve to 4-1 in the season series against Calgary.

At 78 points, Edmonton tops the conference by six points over Moose Jaw, while Calgary remains at 67 points, but is now tied for fourth with Saskatoon who grabbed an 4-3 shootout win over Swift Current to pull even.
