Game 3 Preview: Hitmen at Broncos

After a two day break the scene has shifted from Alberta to Saskatchewan as the Calgary Hitmen visit the Swift Current Broncos tonight in Game 3 of their Eastern Conference Quarter-Final.  The Hitmen lead the best-of-seven series 2-0 following back-to-back wins at Scotiabank Saddledome by scores of 6-5 in OT and 3-1.  Radio Broadcast tonight on Sportsnet 960 The Fan begins at 6 o'clock with a one hour pre-game show.  Guests include Hitmen head coach Mike Williamson along with defenceman Spencer Humphries.  From Swift Current joining us will be head coach Mark Lamb and defenceman Dillon Heatherington.

SERIES TRENDS:  Not only has Calgary opened the scoring in both games but they have yet to trail at any point in the series....Counting overtime Swift Current has outshot the Hitmen in four of the seven periods....Calgary has outscored Swift Current by a combined 4-0 in first periods of the series.

SHOT CLOCK:  Even though Broncos trail the series, they've outshot Calgary by a combined 68-61.

SPREADING THE SCORING AROUND:  Fourteen different Hitmen have at least a single point in the series while eight different Broncos have hit the scoresheet.

SPECIAL TEAMS:  Swift Current leads the special teams battle going a combined 3-9 on the powerplay (33.3%) while the Hitmen are 1-4 with the man advantage (25%).

HOME AND AWAY:  During the regular season Calgary was 24-11-0-1 on the road while Swift Current went 20-12-2-2 at home.
