Game 2 Preview: Broncos at Hitmen

One night after the Calgary Hitmen and Swift Current Broncos combined for 11 goals and overtime what will they do for an encore?  Game 2 of their Eastern Conference Quarter Final goes tonight at Scotiabank Saddledome with the Hitmen leading the best-of seven series 1-0 after that 6-5 victory in the opener.

Internet Broadcast on Sportsnet 960 The Fan begins at 6:40 with a 20 minute warm-up show. You can listen here: http://player.rogersradio.ca/cfac-alt/on_air

There's no question the offence came to play last night as 13 different Hitmen recorded points while eight different Broncos hit the scoresheet.  Dating back to the regular season Calgary has now won seven of their last eight games scoring a combined 47 goals for a per game average of 5.88.

The Off Ice Officials do such as great job at the 'Dome so I though I'd provide you with a list of which players were around the net most for both teams last night.

GAME 1 SHOTS ON GOAL LEADERS
Calgary
Brady Brassart 6
Cody Sylvester 5
Brooks Macek 4
Greg Chase 4
Pavlo Padakin 4

Swift Current
Adam Lowry 8
Colby Cave 4
Levi Bews 3
Five other Broncos had 2 shots each

There's no question tonight's game is just as big for Calgary.  As with every road team in the playoffs the goal for Swift Current in Game 2 tonight is to gain a split on the road and take home ice advantage back to Saskatchewan for Games 3 and 4 Monday and Tuesday respectively.

LEADER OF THE PACK:  With his powerplay goal last night, Brooks Macek leads all Hitmen with 24 career playoffs points (11g 13a) in 38 games.

DID YOU KNOW?  Only three Hitmen made their WHL playoff debut last night; Victor Rask, Pavlo Padakin and Elliott Peterson.

FRANCHISE PLAYOFF RECORD: Not including their two trips to the MasterCard Memorial Cup Calgary has a lifetime playoff record of 110-78.  The Hitmen have competed in 34 series prior to this one and have won 22 and lost 12.  Calgary is 19-16 in post season overtime games.
