The Kootenay Ice snapped an eight game winless streak and in the process halted a season high five game winning streak for the Calgary Hitmen with a 4-0 victory Monday night at Scotiabank Saddledome.
Ice forward Brock Montgomery scored his first career hat trick for the visitors who opened the scoring just 21 seconds in.
Mackenzie Skapski made 17 saves to record his second career shutout.
It's the first time this season the Hitmen have been shutout.
Calgary, now 13-5-1-2, will enjoy nearly a week off before hosting the Swift Current Broncos Sunday at the 'Dome.
