Calgary 5 Victoria 2

Alex Roach (2g 1a) and Brady Brassart (1g 2a) both had three point games as the Calgary Hitmen beat the Victoria Royals 5-2 Friday night at Scotiabank Saddledome.

The Hitmen entered play without their top two scorers in Brooks Macek (illness) and Cody Sylvester (upper-body injury day-to-day) but also welcomed Brassart back into the fold after missing his last seven games due to injury.

After a scorless first period the Hitmen built a 2-1 second period lead on Elliott Peterson's first goal in the Western Hockey League.

The third period was all Calgary en-route to their fifth straight win, and second in as many tries on home ice.
