Calgary 3 Lethbridge 2

The Calgary Hitmen opened a home and home series with the Hurricanes in Lethbridge Tuesday night by posting a 3-2 win.

Outplayed most of the night, the Hitmen road the hot goaltending of Chris Driedger to victory.  The Ottawa Senators third round pick in 2012 made a season high 42 saves.

Calgary never trailed building leads of 1-0 and 3-1 on goals from Greg Chase, Alex Roach and Carson Samoridny.

The Hitmen penalty killing brigade also played a key role killing seven of eight short handed situations.

The win moves Calgary into top spot in the WHL's Eastern Conference, one point ahead of Prince Albert.
