Calgary Hitmen Main Camp kicked off Friday night with registration and fitness testing. Over 50 players were tested in five different categories conducted by Hitmen strength and conditioning coach Sean Hope-Ross and the National Sports Development staff. They included the following: 155lb Bench Press, Chin Ups, Curl Ups, Broad Jump and Beep-Test.

A total of 26 rookies, who were not fitness tested for a second time, have been invited to main camp.
Scrimmages begin Sunday morning at 8:30 with a total of 81 players split into four teams. I'll be at all main camp scrimmages posting scoring summaries.
All on-ice sessions, including the Intra-Squad Game, are free and open to the public. Rosters will be available at the Don Hartman North East Sportsplex.

Following Training Camp, the Hitmen will play a total of six pre-season games with the only local game taking place at WinSport (C.O.P.) on Friday, September 7 at 7:00 p.m. versus the Red Deer Rebels. On Saturday, September 22, Calgary hosts division rival Kootenay Ice for the 2012-13 Adrenalin Source For Sports Home Opener. Game time is 7:00 p.m. at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
