Victoria 3 Hitmen 1

For the first time in franchise history the Victoria Royals beat the Calgary Hitmen posting a 3-1 victory Thursday night at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre.

Alex Gogolev scored a pair of goals against his former team including the clincher into an empty net.

Zane Jones also struck against his former club scoring the lone goal for Calgary who was outshot 29-21.

Victoria went 0-5 on the powerplay while for only the third time in Hitmen history Calgary did not get a single opportunity with the man advantage.
