Medicine Hat 5 Calgary 2

In a game that started 40 minutes late because of weather delays, Marek Langhamer made 39 saves while Curtis Valk had a goal and an assist as the Medicine Hat Tigers beat the Calgary Hitmen 5-2 Sunday night at The Arena.

The Tigers jumped out to a 3-0 second period lead before Brady Brassart got the Hitmen on the board with a shorthanded marker, his 28th goal of the season.

Medicine Hat then extended their lead to 4-1 early in the third period before Alex Roach scored Calgary’s second goal of the night, his 15th of the season.

The Hitmen outshot Medicine Hat 41-34 including 21-9 in the first period but see their winless streak reach four games (0-3-0-1).

Calgary went 0-5 on the powerplay while the Tigers were 1-8.
