Hitmen take a 3-1 series lead with a disputed OT win

Victor Rask scored just 37 seconds into overtime to give the Calgary Hitmen a 1-0 win over the Swift Current Broncos Tuesday night in Saskacthewan and a commanding 3-1 lead in their best-of-seven Eastern Conference Quarter-Final series.

Rask was able to corral a bouncing puck and fend off Graham Black to beat Eetu Laurikainen couldn't get to his left quick enough.

The scoring play was called a good goal at the time but the Broncos bench erupted in anger feeling the puck was knocked with a glove over to Rask.  The officials huddled as the Hitmen poured off the bench to celebrate but nothing was overturned.

From our broadcast booth, located at the Hitmen blueline a long ways away, it was impossible to see as so many players had crowded the blue paint.

Swift Current outshot the Hitmen 28-27 with Chris Driedger turning in a perfect performance in the Calgary net to record his first career WHL playoff shutout.

The series now shifts back to Calgary to Game 5 Thursday night at Scotiabank Saddledome with a 7:00 o'clock start.
