Hitmen 8 Hurricanes 1

Adam Tambellini scored his first career hat-trick powering the Calgary Hitmen to an 8-1 win over the Lethbridge Hurricanes Saturday night at Enmax Centre.

The victory moves the Hitmen into a tie for first place in the Western Hockey League Eastern Conference with the Edmonton Oil Kings at 82 points.

Alex Roach had a pair of goals for Calgary who got singles from Chase Lang, Pavel Padakin and Jake Virtanen.

Travis Sanheim picked up three assists for the Hitmen who have now won six games in a row.

Brady Brassart extended his career high point scoring streak to nine games with a first period assist.
Giorgio Estephan was the only Hurricane to beat Mack Shields who made 29 saves in the Hitmen net.

The victory improves Calgary’s record to 37-15-3-3.

The Hitmen will now return home to host the Red Deer Rebels on Monday.  Game time is 4:00 pm at Scotiabank Saddledome.  Fans are encouraged to bring their helmet and skates on Monday for a family-friendly skate following the Co-op Family Day game.
