Driedger backstops Hitmen to win in Kelowna

The WHL’s Eastern Conference leading Calgary Hitmen extended their winning streak to four games with a 2-1 victory over the Kelowna Rockets Tuesday night at Prospera Place.

Chris Driedger turned in a brilliant performance in goal making 38 saves, including 34 over the final two periods.

Zane Jones scored the game winning goal for Calgary with 65 seconds remaining to break a 1-1 tie.
Elliott Peterson also scored for the Hitmen, netting a shorthanded marker in the first period.

Kelowna outshot Calgary 39-21 with their lone goal, shorthanded, off the stick of Justin Kirkland in the second period.

The win improves the Hitmen record to 9-3-0-1 including a 6-0-0-1 mark in their last seven games.
Calgary plays game two of their four game British Columbia road trip tomorrow in Vancouver. 

Radio Broadcast on Sportsnet 960 The Fan begins at 8 p.m.

Next Hitmen home game is Sunday, November 3rd against the Edmonton Oil Kings.  Game time is 4:00 p.m. at Scotiabank Saddledome.
