The Hurricanes, who trailed 2-0 after the first period, scored five unanswered goals building a 5-2 third period lead.

Cody Sylvester led the Hitmen in the loss with three points, scoring twice and setting up another.  Sylvester now has a career high and team leading 25 goals this season.  Victor Rask and Greg Chase also scored for the Hitmen whose late third period push got them to within a goal trailing 5-4 with 3:50 remaining.

Their best chance to tie it came when Chase hit a post before Michael Sofillias sealed the victory with an empty net goal for Lethbridge.

The Hitmen outshot the Hurricanes 37-34.  Lethbridge was 2-6 on the powerplay while Calgary went 2-7.
The Hitmen, now 31-13-1-3, return home to host the Brandon Wheat Kings on Sunday.  Game time is 4:00 p.m. at Scotiabank Saddledome for Cardel Homes Minor Hockey Day.

The Calgary Hitmen and Cardel Homes have teamed up with Hockey Calgary to celebrate minor hockey.  Teams attending Sunday’s game have an opportunity to win great prizes including fundraising dollars and a chance to meet the Hitmen at a future Cardel Hang with the Hitmen event.
