Calgary 10 Brandon 2

In what was Calgary's biggest scoring attack of the season, the Hitmen rolled the Brandon Wheat Kings 10-2 Wednesday night at Scotiabank Saddledome.

Brooks Macek led the way with his second career hat trick.  Ironically Macek's first WHL hat trick was also against Brandon registered last season.  Chase Lang and Austin Calladine both scored their first goal in the WHL for Calgary.  Lang actually finished the game with a pair of goals and an assist.

Twelve different Hitmen had a least a single point with Brady Brassart racking up a team high four points (1g 3a).

The powerplay, 3 for its last 43 heading into the game, was stellar for the Hitmen finishing the night 5-9.

The Wheat Kings line-up was a shadow if its normal self with injuries, and the World Juniors and World Under-17 Hockey Challenge taking a bite out of the roster.  Among the scratches was Calgary Flames prospect Michael Ferland who sat out with an injury suffered in Edmonton on New Years Eve.
