Calgary Hitmen forward Jake Virtanen has been suspended by the Western Hockey League following a five minute major for kneeing in Game 2 against the Oil Kings.
Virtanen was ejected from Friday night contest following a collision with Oil Kings defenceman Cody Corbett just inside the Hitmen blue line.
The length of Virtanen's suspension has yet to be determined, but he will not be in the line-up Tuesday night when the series resumes in Calgary with Game 3 at Scotiabank Saddledome.
