Game 3 Preview: Hitmen at Rebels

After a two day break the scene has shifted from Calgary to Red Deer as the Hitmen visit the Rebels tonight in Game 3 of their Eastern Conference Semi-Final. The Hitmen lead the best-of-seven series 2-0 following back-to-back wins at Scotiabank Saddledome by scores of 4-2 and 2-1.  Game time tonight is 7:00 p.m. at the Enmax Centrium.  Internet broadcast on sportsnet.ca/960 also begins at seven o'clock and can be heard by clicking here: http://player.rogersradio.ca/cfac-alt/on_air

SERIES TRENDS: Not only has Calgary opened the scoring in both games but they have yet to trail at any point in the series....Four of Calgary six goals have been scored in the second period....The Hitmen have taken a lead to the third period in both games.

SHOT CLOCK:  Calgary has only been out shot in two of the six periods.  Overall the Hitmen have out shot the Rebels by a combined 75-60.

SPREADING THE SCORING AROUND:  Nine different Hitmen have at least a single point in the series.  Brady Brassart and Cody Sylvester lead the way with three points each.  Eight different Rebels have a point, but no one has more than one.

STREAKIN':  Dating back to the regular season Victor Rask is riding a 13 game point streak (6g 13a 19pts).  Alex Roach (1g 1a) has points in back-to-back games.  Cody Sylvester (4a) and Jake Virtanen (1g 1a) both had their two game point streaks snapped in Game 2.

SPECIAL TEAMS: Calgary leads the special teams battle going a combined 2-10 on the powerplay (20.%) while Red Deer is 0-9 with the man advantage.

HOME AND AWAY:  Including the post season, Calgary is 25-11-1-1 on the road while Red Deer is 24-11-2-1 at home.
