Hitmen 5 Hurricanes 3

Coaldale, AB – The Calgary Hitmen got goals from five different players en-route to a 5-3 pre-season win over the Lethbridge Hurricanes Friday night in Coaldale.

Pavel Karnaukhov, with his third goal in as many games, scored the game winner for Calgary early in the third period breaking a 3-3 tie.

Lochlan Morrison added an insurance marker less than two minutes later helping the Hitmen improve to 2-1 in the pre-season.

Jordan Stallard, Chase Lang and Connor Rankin also scored for Calgary while Marshall Donald chipped in a pair of assists.

The Hitmen outshot Lethbridge 37-20 with Mack Shields going the distance making 17 saves to pick up the win.

Calgary is back on the pre-season ice tomorrow night in High River to face the Medicine Hat Tigers.  Game time is 7:00 pm at the Bob Snodgrass Recreation Complex (228 12 Avenue S.E.).

Tickets are $10 for Adults and $5 for Youth.

All the proceeds will support Foothills Area Hockey Development.

The 72 game 2014-15 regular season schedule begins on Saturday, September 20 with the Home Opener against the Red Deer Rebels.  Game time is 7:00 pm at Scotiabank Saddledome.
