Hitmen score five unanswered to beat Red Deer

The Calgary Hitmen ran their winning streak to three games with a come-from-behind 5-2 win over the Red Deer Rebels Tuesday night at Scotiabank Saddledome.

The Rebels jumped out to a 2-0 lead, just 67 seconds in scoring twice on a 5-on-3 powerplay.

But it was all Calgary after that.

Linden Penner and Chase Lang both scored their first goals of the season for the Hitmen while Pavel Padakin, Radel Fazleev and Jake Virtanen also found the back of the net.

For Penner it was his first career goal in the Western Hockey League while Lang and Padakin both added an assist to lead the Hitmen with two points each.

Calgary dominated on the shot clock 40-18 in winning their third straight meeting with the Rebels this season.

The Hitmen, 16-7-1-3, will now host Lethbridge Saturday at 7pm and Portland on Sunday at 4 o'clock.
