The Calgary Hitmen have traded 18-year-old defenceman Darian Henry to the Regina Pats for a fifth round pick in the 2015 WHL Bantam Draft.
The Hitmen had acquired the Strathmore, Alberta product in the off season from the Everett Silvertips in exchange for forward Luke Gordon.
Henry got caught in a numbers game in Calgary. A true defenceman, Henry had played the better part of the last two months as a forward.
His move to Regina will open up playing time for many of the young Hitmen including Josh Thrower, Colby Harmsworth, Austin Calladine, Chase Lang, Jake Virtanen and Elliot Peterson.
