It's that time of year when Western Hockey League teams see their pre-season rosters change dramatically as veterans head off to NHL camps.
Five Hitmen will leave Thursday for the pro-camp experience.
Brooks Macek...6th round pick 2010 Detroit Red Wings (not signed)
Victor Rask...2nd round pick 2011 Carolina Hurricanes (not signed)
Trevor Cheek...Free Agent invite to San Jose Sharks
Peter Kosterman...Free Agent invite to Calgary Flames
Alex Roach...Free Agent invite to Los Angeles Kings
One other Hitmen will leave at a later date as 20-year-old Ben Wilson has received an AHL camp invite to the Lake Erie Monsters. He leaves on September 24th, yes the same date the Hitmen open the 2011-12 WHL Regular Season in Cranbrook.
