Raiders 5 Hitmen 2

Leon Draisaitl had two goals and two assists powering the Prince Albert Raiders to a 5-2 win over the Calgary Hitmen Friday night at Art Hauser Centre.

Winnipeg Jets prospect Josh Morrissey had a goal and an assist for the Raiders who also got markers from Collin Valcourt and Mackenzie Stewart to pick up their third win a row.

Jake Virtanen scored both goals for Calgary, his team leading 41st and 42nd, as the Hitmen suffered their second loss in as many games.

Prince Albert jumped out to a 2-0 first period lead before Virtanen scored back-to-back goals 43 seconds apart early in the middle frame to pull the Hitmen even.

But a powerplay goal from Draisaitl with less than a minute remaining in the second period would give the Raiders a 3-2 lead they would not surrender.

Calgary outshot Prince Albert 34-28 but the Raiders won the special teams battle going 1-2 on the powerplay while killing all three Hitmen chances
